Privacy Policy for RaulWalter.com

Effective Date: June 27, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy outlines how RaulWalter OÜ (“we”, “us”, “our”), the operator of RaulWalter.com (the “Site”), handles information. RaulWalter OÜ is the data controller for any data processed in relation to this Site.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and collecting the minimum amount of information necessary for the operation of our Site.

2. Our Data Collection Philosophy

Our approach is privacy-by-design, not privacy-as-an-afterthought. Our analytics is self-built, self-hosted in the EU, cookieless, and free of any third-party tracker — your data is never sent to Google or to any advertising or analytics company. We collect as little as possible, never keep your IP address in our records, and honour browser privacy signals. This Site is designed to function without active personal data collection from our visitors.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

To be fully transparent, we want to clarify what we do not do:

  • User Accounts: We do not have a user registration or login system, so we do not collect personal information related to user accounts (like names, usernames, or passwords).

  • Forms: We do not have contact forms, comment sections, or other forms that would actively collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

4. Information We Process and Why

Like virtually all websites, our web server automatically collects standard technical information in server logs. We also run our own privacy-first, cookieless analytics to understand how visitors use our Site. We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics service.

Analytics: Our analytics is first-party and cookieless — your browser only ever communicates with our own domain, nothing is stored on your device, and no advertising or cross-site tracking is involved. We do not store your IP address. Instead, two short-lived pseudonymous identifiers are derived on our server from a salted hash of your IP address and browser type: a session key that rotates every day, and a visitor key that rotates every calendar month. The daily key cannot connect your activity across different days; the monthly key lets us recognise repeat visits within a single month — purely to tell new visitors apart from returning ones — and then rotates, so it cannot be linked across months or back to you.

From your visit we record: the pages you view (including any query string in the address), how long you spend on a page, how far you scroll, the full address of the external site that referred you (internal links are ignored), the destination of any external link you click, your language preference, an approximate country derived from your IP at the moment of collection (we keep only the country code, never the IP), and a coarse device / operating-system / browser category. We honour "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control browser signals — if your browser sends either, we record nothing.

Because this analytics sets no cookies and stores no data on your device or any personally identifying data, it does not require a consent banner. It is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in understanding and improving how our Site is used.

Server Logs: Includes your IP address, date/time of visit, pages accessed, browser type, and operating system. This is processed under our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) to ensure security and functionality.

The data processed includes:

  • Your IP address

  • The date and time of your visit

  • The pages you accessed on our Site

  • Your browser type and version

  • Your operating system

  • The referring website (if you followed a link to our Site)

The legal basis for processing this data is our legitimate interest (as per GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in ensuring the technical functionality, security, and integrity of our Site, and to diagnose and prevent technical issues or security attacks. This data is used solely for these purposes and is not used to personally identify you.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell or trade your data, and we do not share it with any third-party advertising or analytics company. Our analytics is self-hosted on our own infrastructure within the EU — analytics data is not sent to Google or any other external analytics provider.

Hosting / Infrastructure: Our Site and our analytics run on servers operated by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the EU (Stockholm region), acting as a data processor on our behalf. They are contractually bound to keep the data secure and only process it according to our instructions. We will not disclose this data to any other third party unless legally required to do so by a court order or governmental request.

6. Cookies

This Site does not use cookies. Our analytics is cookieless and stores nothing on your device, so there is no cookie banner and nothing for you to consent to or decline. We also respect “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control browser signals.

7. Data Retention

Server logs are typically retained for 90 days for security purposes.

Analytics data is stored in our own systems in pseudonymous form and is not subject to a fixed deletion schedule — it is kept for as long as it remains useful for understanding Site usage, largely as aggregated reports. Because the identifiers are salted, rotate over time, and are never stored alongside your IP address, this data does not identify you.

8. Your Rights Under GDPR

As our Site is operated from Estonia (an EU member state), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Even though we collect minimal data, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.

  • Request correction of any incorrect data.

  • Request erasure of your personal data.

  • Object to the processing of your data.

  • Request restriction of processing.

To exercise these rights, please contact us using the details below.

9. Links to Other Websites

Our Site may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content or privacy practices of any third-party sites.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
